With the 30-year anniversary of Germany’s reunification falling on race day in this Saturday’s iRacing Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, Fischer Motorsport’s No. 84 Porsche 991 RSR GTE will feature a special livery to celebrate Germany’s national day.

Born in East Germany in 1984, Germany’s reunification on October 3rd, 1990 had and continues to have a profound and life-altering affect on team founder Benjamin Fischer.

The No. 84 Porsche 991 RSR GTE will feature a special livery in this weekend's iRacing Petit Le Mans, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Germany's Reunification

“I know for a fact, this team would not exist today and I would not be doing what I’m doing. And I wouldn’t know any of the guys on the team. My life would be completely different.”, Fischer says.

As was the case for many of his countrymen, the end of the cold war era brought many opportunities for Fischer, now growing up in a reunified Germany that was open to the world and allowing every citizen to live in freedom.

“I consider myself a patriot. I’m proud to live in Leipzig, the city of the peaceful revolution of 1989 that made the reunification of 1990 possible in the first place. I’m proud to be German and live in a country that albeit not perfect, is an awesome place to live and that is friendly and welcoming to the world. It means a lot to me and this carries over to the values that we carry within the team.”, the 36-year old continued.

So it is only fitting for Fischer Motorsport to celebrate the special occasion with a special livery in Saturday’s iRacing Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, featured prominently on the No. 84 Porsche 991 RSR GTE piloted by Pascal Theis, Y. Hignet and Fischer.

“Well, as you know, we always give it everything we have. But maybe we’re going to try that extra bit harder this time, to get that win. It surely would be a sweet way to wrap up big iRacing endurance events this year.”, Theis said on Tuesday.

The iRacing Petit Le Mans is scheduled for Saturday 15:00 CEST / 9:00 am EDT and will go over the usual distance of ten hours at the very challenging Full Course of Road Atlanta, that demands the everything of man and machine.
