Fischer Motorsport releases Julian Bell
Bell signed a one-year deal with Fischer Motorsport in February to run the iRacing Nürburgring Endurance Championship full-time for the 2020 season, as the team kick started its GT4 program with the new Porsche Cayman 718.
The Toronto, Canada natives best finish came in Round 1 when he and teammate Theis earned a second-place finish.
“We appreciate all of Julian’s contributions to the team this year and helping us start out GT4 program in the NEC at one of the most difficult racetracks in the world, the Nürburgring Nordschleife.”, team founder Benjamin Fischer said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The fact we were able to establish a solid GT4 program in the NEC is in large thanks to Julian. Without him, this would not have been possible. That being said, I felt that it was in the best interest of the team to make a change and go a different way for 2021, when we will be making some changes to our GT4 program that we will announce at a later time.”
“Julian is a dear friend of the team and to me personally. So this wasn’t the easiest of decisions for me, as you might imagine. We wish Julian all the best for his future endeavors, on and off the racetrack.”
Together with teammate Pascal Theis, Bell placed the No. 85 Porsche Cayman GT4 team in fifth position in the final GT4 class standings of the 2020 iRacing Nürburgring Endurance Championship after the series’ season finale on November 1st.
