Preview: iRacing NEC Round 2

After missing the opening round of the 2022 iRacing Nürburgring Enurance Championship two weeks ago, Fischer Motorsport joins the action in the “Green Hell” this Saturday, for NEC Round 2.

Niclas Pedersen and Benjamin Fischer will team up in the team’s No. 84 Porsche 992 GT3 Cup to make their season debut at the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Fischer Motorsport has competed in the iRacing Nürburgring 24 Hours in early April, fielding a Porsche 911 GT3 R and ended up claiming a top ten finish. But in the NEC, the organization will run the Cup Porsche instead.

“We’re excited to debut the 992 GT3 Cup. It’s a great car, as you’d expect from a Porsche. It’s so much fun to drive around here. Obviously, it’s a challenge also, but very rewarding when you get it right.”, explained Fischer.

With limited time to prepare for the new NEC season so far and missing the first championship round, the team’s focus is not on the win or championship points this weekend.

“We just want to run a clean race, get a lot of track time and finish the race. If we can accomplish that, it will be a good weekend for us.”, Pedersen said.

The NEC Round 2 starts Saturday at 18:00 GMT / 12:00 am EDT.
