As a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jason is very good friends with famous NASCAR champions Kurt and Kyle Busch. In 2001 Jason beat the latter for the 2001 Super Late Model Championship and was Rookie of the Year at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, as his roots are in oval motorsport.

In the year of 2020 Jason made the transition to GT and endurance racing. In October of the same year, he made his first start with Fischer Motorsport in the iRacing Endurance Series 12 Hours of COTA, piloting the No. 84 Porsche 911 RSR GTE with team-mate Pascal Theis.

Off the track he enjoys following the career of his son Carson, who at the age of 14 does BMX bike races across the country, and following his 12-year old daughter Bryli who competes nationally in gymnastics events.
