The IVRA ClubSport Summer Series concludes this weekend at Imola. The Italian track hosts the 6 Hours of Imola, third and final championship round in a exhibition series organized by IVRA in response to the COVID-19 crisis, to bring the sim racing community together.

For Fischer Motorsport, the previous two races in this series have been a complete disaster as crashes, mechanical failures, miscommunication and strategy errors have plagued the team's sole series entry, the No. 185 Porsche Cayman GT4.

Drivers Pascal Theis and Manuel Mayer will try to end the Summer Series on a high note this Saturday, but it will not come easy.

"It's tough. The competition is really strong. We're down on pace right now, trying to figure things out and get better.", Theis said Friday during the third official free practice session.

"We've not had a good run. But we owe it to ourselves, to the team and to our fans, to go out there and do our best. I think we can make up some of the lack in pace in the race, because it's a six hours again. But we'll have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot.", the Frankfurt, Germany driver added, referring to the team's errors on strategy at Spa last month.

Team-mate Manuel Mayer joins Theis in Saturday's season finale. The Teisendorf, Germany driver has been a rock for the team since the 2018 season and the veteran driver has seen many challenges. On the question where he ranks the challenge ahead, the 31-year old said:

"Well, we've had challenges before. So I don't think this is different all that much. But racing in this series is different. You've got a highly competitive SPORT class with the GT4 cars."

"You've got these full course yellow flags, bunching the field back together. We need to bring our A game and stay focused. If we do that, we should be in a good position to get something out of this.", Mayer added.

As the No. 185 Porsche Cayman GT4 team enters the final round of this special three-race championship, it is mathematically eliminated already from contention, trailing the SPORT class leaders by 136 points.

"We just want to end this summer on a high note and gain valuable knowledge for next season.", Theis shared the team's sentiment.

The 6 Hours of Imola starts on Saturday 18:00 CEST / 12:00 am EDT and will be broadcast live on the iRacing eSports Network.
